The software that lets users look at various types of Internet resources. Browsers can search for documents and obtain them from other computers on the Web. The most common browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape.
E-Commerce: Business conducted over the Internet, usually by websites that provide product display and online ordering using credit cards as the payment method.
Domain Name: A unique name that identifies a specific website, e.g., mybusinessname.com. A business or individual can choose any domain name that hasn't already been registered.
Domain Name Registrar: A company that provides domain name registration services for a fee.
Home Page: The main web page in website's collection of web pages.

Web Hosting:
A service provided by a company, for a fee, where their web server is a repository of one or more websites so these websites are accessible on the Web.
HTML: The HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is used to create hypertext documents for the Web.
Hyperlink: The text or graphics on a web page that can be clicked on with a mouse to take you to another web page or a different area of the same web page. Hyperlinks are also used to load multimedia files.   (This page contains 17 hyperlinks.)
Hypertext: The HTML encoded text that comprises a web page that can contain hyperlinks to other web pages or multimedia files.
Internet: An international network of networks, the world's largest network of interconnected computers used by individuals, organizations and business for the exchange of information, goods and services.
Network: A group of two or more computers linked together.

A hypertext-based global multimedia information network; the Web is part of the Internet.
Web Page: A document designed for viewing in a web browser.
Web Server: A computer on the Web that provides (serves up) requested web pages.
Website: Some entity's collection of web pages and other multimedia residing on a web server that's accessible on the Web.
